The mission of USBI is to meet the information, interaction and development needs of recreational boaters to provide safe boating education to the public; to accept and utilize public funds and private contributions for the benefit of safe boating; to promote safe boating; and to engage in any lawful activity which is directly or indirectly related to safe boating. In addition, the USBI can provide information and access to education, through its member organizations to the public, so that the public can qualify for any boat operators license that might be required for non-commercial boat operations. The diversity of USBI is wide spread, covering nearly all aspects of recreational boating activity from river canoeing and kayaking to offshore cruising on sail craft and motor launches. The activities of USBI offer something with a challenge for members.
